A cosy cottage with private hot tub, wood burning stove and countryside views on a Cornish alpaca farm! Barn Owl Cottage is set in a peaceful yet accessible location, 10 minutes from the Tamar bridge. The perfect escape, whether you want to explore Cornwall’s beautiful south coast, walk in pretty countryside, meet the alpacas and enjoy the farm or simply relax in your private hot tub!
The Space
Barn Owl Cottage is a converted barn set all on one level. The bedroom is very peaceful, with a king-sized bed and a double wardrobe and chest of drawers, so plenty of space for your belongings. The main living space is open plan, with a dining table for two, a kitchen (with microwave, oven and coffee machine), a sofa and smart TV with Freeview and Airplay available. The cottage has its own Wifi service for guests to use. The bathroom has a bath with shower over; towels and bathrobes are provided.
Behind the cottage is a terrace with lovely countryside views across the valley to the hillside beyond, and your own private hot tub. The cottage garden leads on to a copse of trees and then access to the farm; our guests are free to wander around the farm and our woodlands, say hello to the animals and make use of our picnic spots and trails. We are very enthusiastic about our animals and always happy to introduce them! Our very friendly cats are likely to come and visit you during your stay.
Other Things to Note
Barn Owl Cottage is in a beautiful rural setting on Popham Farm, yet in a surprisingly accessible location! Within 20 mins drive you can be on the beach, walking on the moors, or parked in the centre of Plymouth! The Southeast corner of Cornwall has a beautiful coastline, with beaches such as Seaton Beach, Whitsand Bay and Talland Bay nearby. You can head off to explore South Cornwall’s coastal towns and villages, including Looe, Polperro and Fowey. There is fabulous walking on both Dartmoor and Bodmin Moor, as well as the beautiful Tamar Valley and the coast. Our nearest pub is The Weary Friar in Pillaton, which is just over a mile walk from Popham Farm. There are a number of other pubs and restaurants in the surrounding villages, including the Michelin star rated Crocadon Farm. We are very close to the well-known St Mellion golf course, and there are watersports and horse riding available nearby too.
